I’ve mentioned before that I love making pasta for a quick and simple lunch when I’m tired of our usual peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. (Click here for a simple pasta recipe that is perfect for lunch!)
I try to buy good quality, healthy pasta when I can. Generally the kids don’t notice, but every now and then I’ll test one out and they give me “the look.”
You guys know the look, right? That whole “I can’t believe you attempted to make me eat healthy, I feel so betrayed, don’t you loooooooove me anymore?” look.
You get that look, too, right? My kids can totally rock that look.
In fact, it happened at dinner last night when I served them roasted broccoli and carrots. Don’t they know that roasted veggies taste like candy? Why are my kids so difficult and weird?
When Barilla asked me to test out their Barilla® Whole Grain pasta, I jumped at the chance. I whipped up my favorite simple pasta consisting of nothing but pasta, garlic, olive oil, and a bit of good cheese. I figured that would really let the pasta shine and the flavor and texture would shine right through. It did! Thank goodness the pasta was delicious!
It must not have tasted too healthy, because the kids finished their lunch without once giving me “the look.” I call that success.
I really enjoyed both the flavor and the texture. In the past, we’ve had texture issues with the non-white pastas, but this was perfect. Served with a side salad and some raw carrots, my Barilla® Whole Grain pasta made a pretty good lunch. It was certainly a welcome break from my usual peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Barilla® Whole Grain pasta is made with 51% whole wheat. It’s an all-natural and excellent source of fiber with three times the amount of fiber than regular pasta! I’m almost thirty years old now, you know. I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to start worrying about my fiber intake now.
Barilla even has a taste guarantee on their Whole Grain pasta. If you don’t love it, you get a blue box of Barilla for free. Check out their website here for more information on their Barilla® Whole Grain pasta.

I could never enjoy whole grain pasta because the texture just wasn’t something I could adjust to but Barilla has found a way to change that. I love that Barilla whole grain has a taste and texture similar to what I’ve always enjoyed and that has won me over.

I love Barilla whole grain pasta because you can use it in place of white flour pasta without a change in taste or texture.
