Figured a little Fall trail mix situation couldn’t hurt things and here we are with a mix of caramel corn, pretzels, candy corn, and more.
This is like that little mix of peanuts and candy corn that my grandma used to leave out in a pumpkin candy dish, but with the addition of all kinds of good things.
Please feel free to customize this one to suit your tastes and what you have on hand. Pretzel shapes, nuts, types of candy – all totally customizable!
♥ 3 Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe:
Sweet & Salty: This snack mix has just the right balance of sweet candy and salty pretzels and nuts. It’s an irresistible combo that’ll keep you snacking!
Super Easy: Toss everything in a bowl and you’re pretty much done. This snack mix is ready in 5 minutes!
Customizable: Pretty much every ingredient in this mix can be swapped out with something else and you can always add in extra stuff that isn’t listed!
Ingredients, Swaps, & Tips:
- Nuts: We like to use mixed nuts but if you want to keep it nut-free due to allergies or if you just don’t like them you can use sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, or extra pretzels.
- Candy: If you want to lighten things up you can swap the candy for cereal, dried fruit, or more nuts. Personally, I’m adding plenty of Reese’s Pieces and candy corn.
- Muddy Bites: The one really ‘specialty’ item here is the Muddy Bites. They’re little waffle cone bites filled with chocolate and I am obsessed with them. You can skip them, but gosh – they’re good.
Serving Suggestions:
This fall snack mix is pretty much our go to for any fall family gathering or party. It’s perfect for Halloween or Thanksgiving. Serve it on a snack board for the holiday with a bunch of other goodies.
It’s also great for movie night! You can serve it in cups so everyone gets their own scoop, or divide it into bags for party favors or a snack for school or work.
Storage:
You can keep this snack mix stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week! Keep it in a cool, dry area to keep the candy from melting.
We keep this on our coffee table in a covered pumpkin dish. I grab a handful every time the TV turns on. 😉
