As you can probably imagine, my kids get a lot of fun treats around our house.
Between our homemade brownies and perfect chocolate chip cookies, they end up as quite the lucky kids when it comes to dessert!
But, no matter what fancy treat I whip up, this simple cookie dough dip is what they ask for more than anything else.
It’s just about the easiest thing you could make, has all of those brown sugar and vanilla vibes we love in a cookie, and it’s perfect for serving with a pile of graham cracker sticks, Nilla wafers, or pretzel thins!

“Cookie Dough” – This cookie dough dip recipe doesn’t have actual cookie dough in it, but that’s okay! Skip the flour and egg and use some softened cream cheese. It’ll get mixed up with brown sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to replicate that cookie dough flavor and it’s perfectly soft for dipping!
Chocolate – We’re mixing in mini chocolate chips and sprinkling extra over the top.
Optional – We love to add some finely chopped pecans or other nuts to this dip, but it is optional! And of course you are free to add in all sorts of other goodies that might sound good like white chocolate chips, toffee bits, etc.

It’s so easy to whip up dessert with this cute hand mixer. It doesn’t take up much space and is a must for any kitchen!
Chocolate: Dump in the chocolate chips and give them a quick stir.
Serve: After you finishing mixing the cookie dough dip together you can stick it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving and enjoying with your favorite dipping treats! See below for some suggestions.
If the texture of the dip isn’t soft enough for you just let it come to room temperature before serving and it should soften up some. Likewise, if it’s too soft just pop it in the fridge to thicken up.
What to serve with cookie dough dip?
There are lots of great things you can use to dip with! We like dipping cookies into this cookie dough dip because… why not? Here are some other great suggestions:
- Graham Crackers/Sticks
- Nilla Wafers
- Oreo Cookies
- Apple Slices
This chocolate chip cookie dough is mostly just cream cheese, sugar, and chocolate so you know it’ll keep well in the refrigerator! It should last at least 4 to 5 days.
We haven’t tested freezing this dip, but would be a bit worried about the texture once it’s thawed. Cream cheese can get a bit grainy and crumbly after freezing.
