Our fav summer sandwich in dippable format.
Turning Sandwiches into Dip!
Sometimes (all the time?) you just really need a BLT, but also you want (okay, need) a dip and some crackers or chips.
Hi. We’ve married our favorite summer sandwich and turned it into a scoopable, dippable BLT concoction that is stealing hearts.
This BLT dip recipe gives you exactly what you’re craving – crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a creamy base that holds it all together.
It’s the kind of appetizer that disappears fast at parties, mainly because it tastes like your favorite sandwich in dip form.
♥ 3 Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe:
- It’s basically a deconstructed sandwich. All those classic BLT flavors layered in a dish instead of stacked between bread. Same great taste, way easier to share.
- Super flexible for serving. Works with everything from fancy crostini to basic ruffled potato chips. Perfect for game day or dinner parties.
- Make-ahead friendly. You can prep the creamy base hours ahead, then just add the fresh toppings right before serving.
Ingredient Notes:
Creamy Base – We’re using a combo of cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo as the base. Swap in Greek yogurt for the sour cream if you want to cut down on the calories a bit and add protein. We’ll season this mix with a bit of ranch seasoning.
Lettuce – We use chopped romaine lettuce, but iceberg lettuce will work fine here too. Don’t have a salad spinner? This spinner is a great choice and is the same one that we used in this recipe. We use it all the time!
Diced Tomatoes – Freshly diced tomatoes will work best here. During summer, garden tomatoes are best, but during the winter, we like Campari tomatoes.
Bacon – You’ll fry (or bake) your bacon and then crumble it up. We’re doing a whole pound.
What to dip?
This BLT dip works with almost anything you’d use for dipping. Crostini or bagel crisps give you that bread element, while tortilla chips or crackers keep it simple. Fresh veggies like carrots or bell peppers add extra crunch, and potato chips bring some serious game day vibes.
Leftover Hack!
Spread the mixture evenly on a tortilla, roll it up tightly, and slice into pinwheels.
Storage Instructions:
The cream cheese base can be made ahead up to 3 days in advance. For best results, add toppings just before serving.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The lettuce will start to get a bit wilty, however.
