Our Bacon Wrapped Green Beans are the perfect holiday side dish! Roasted green beans wrapped in bacon and sprinkled with a mix of brown sugar and garlic. So simple and always a hit!
Getting my family to eat green beans is simple. I just wrap them in bacon, brush them with butter, and sprinkle on a little brown sugar and garlic. 😂
I mean, my kiddos actually like most forms of green beans (especially our Green Bean Casserole with Bacon and our Air Fryer Green Beans), but to get my husband involved, there absolutely has to be plenty of bacon involved.
These don’t disappoint, whether you serve them up for a simple weeknight side dish or you make them for a nice holiday dinner. Either way, these are always well received and hard to resist!

Green Beans – You’ll want fresh green beans. Frozen may also work, but definitely do not try this recipe with canned green beans.
Bacon – I’d recommend using a thin sliced cut of bacon for this. A thicker cut won’t cook through as easily or get as crispy. Maple bacon will also be tasty.
Sauce – We’ll make a sweet and savory sauce out of butter, brown sugar, and garlic powder by melting everything together and brushing it over the beans.
What We Love About This Recipe:
These little roasted green bean bundles are sweet, savory, and so simple to throw together. Easy enough for any night of the week, but nice enough for a holiday dinner.
How To Roast Green Beans:
Prepare: Start pre-heating your oven to 400 degrees and prepare the green beans by washing and drying them and then snapping off the ends. Place a wire cooling rack over a large cookie sheet.
Wrap: You’ll take a handful of green beans (about 5 to 10, depending on how large you want each bundle) and lay them across a strip of bacon.
Roll the bacon up around the green bean bundle and place it seam side down on the rack. Repeat for each remaining bundle of green beans.
Sauce: Melt some butter in a sauce pan on the stove over low heat, then mix in the brown sugar and garlic powder until well combined. This shouldn’t take more than a minute or two, just until it’s combined. Brush each bundle of green beans with the sauce and then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
If you want to add a little extra savory flavor to the sauce try mixing in a bit of soy sauce!
Roast: You can now cover the sheet with foil and roast in the oven for 35 minutes. After that remove the foil and let it continue to roast uncovered for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the bacon is nice and crispy!
We’ve been serving these bacon wrapped green beans with my turkey meatloaf and roasted sweet potatoes, or try it with these easy air fryer boneless pork chops!
Spicy – Add a pinch or two of ground cayenne to your butter sauce to make sweet and spicy green beans.
Smoky – Add smoked paprika and/or a dash of liquid smoke to the butter sauce.
Maple – Swap the brown sugar for pure maple syrup.
It’s not necessary unless you want the roasted green beans to be a little more tender. I like them a bit crisp with a bit of a bite, so we don’t blanch them first.
You shouldn’t need to unless you’re using a thick cut of bacon. It may take longer for the bacon to cook than the green beans, so doing a short precook may help it all finish at the same time if the bacon is thick.
You can keep the green beans wrapped with bacon in the refrigerator for at least 3 to 4 days, and they should reheat well in the oven!
