This Tortellini Alfredo recipe is ready in just 20 minutes, made with my homemade Alfredo sauce and cheese tortellini. 5 ingredients, 20 minutes, perfect for a weeknight meal that your family is going to devour.

You’ve got 20 minutes. Let’s make pasta.
You know those nights when you just can not stand the thought of cooking dinner?
But also you’ve ordered DoorDash about 500 times this week and you probably should suck it up and make dinner?
Hello, enter this easy tortellini alfredo!
You’re going to want to keep the ingredients for this one on hand at all times. It’s a life saver!
My homemade Alfredo sauce is always a hit, for any night of the week. It’s simple, quick, and oh man – it tastes amazing.
This time, I’m serving it up over tortellini. I’ve found the sauce works on pretty much any pasta shape, but one filled with cheese? Heck yeah.
If you love pasta as much as I do, you should also test out my one pot spaghetti and my ravioli lasagna. Both are easy enough for any night of the week and a huge hit with the family.
Tortellini Alfredo Ingredients:
Cheese Tortellini – Fresh, frozen, or dried will work. I normally go for the refrigerated ‘fresh’ tortellini.
Heavy Whipping Cream – There are no substitutes here. The richness and thickness of the cream is needed for this sauce.
Parmesan Cheese – You’ll want to either shred a wedge yourself or buy a bag of shredded Parm. Don’t use the powdery green can kind here.
Butter – Adds flavor and richness to the sauce.
Fresh Basil – Completely optional, but if you have some on hand, it’s a great way to add a little freshness.
Salt & Pepper – You’ll just add this to taste.

How To:
Cheese Tortellini: Cook your favorite brand of cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Fresh tortellini cooks in minutes while dried will take a bit longer.
Alfredo Sauce: My simple homemade Alfredo sauce is seriously the best – just melt a stick of butter in a sauce pan and then stir in the heavy cream. Once hot, stir in your shredded Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Combine: With the creamy Alfredo sauce finished and the cheese tortellini cooked and drained, you can go ahead and add the sauce and the pasta into the same bowl and stir to coat.
Top with some fresh basil or parsley and it’s ready to serve!
Serving Suggestions:
We love serving up any type of pasta with our garlic bread recipe and a side salad topped with homemade ranch dressing or this homemade Italian dressing.
Our simple vegetable salad is always a good option to go with pasta too.

I made this tonight, adding frozen peas and chopped prosciutto, and it was delicious. It’s also amazingly easy to make. Restaurant quality dinner faster and easier than ordering delivery.
