This chicken salad with grapes makes a great sandwich – we love it on a croissant, but it’s good on sandwich bread too! The sweetness of the grapes pairs perfectly with the chicken and pecans!
Would you like to save this?
I’ve always been a huge chicken salad fan, but I never really understood the idea behind putting fruit in a savory chicken salad.
Well, friends. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich from a restaurant once without realizing it’d come packed with grapes and now I’m positively hooked.
The sweetness of the grapes pairs so perfectly with the richness of the mayonnaise and the little crunch of pecans and basically this is next level chicken salad happening here.
You’re going to love this chicken salad with grapes and pecans. Especially if you smear it all up in a croissant. Perfect lunch, if you ask me!
How to make this chicken salad recipe with grapes:
We’ll start with some already cooked and shredded chicken. You can use a rotisserie chicken or start with my crockpot shredded chicken.
Add your chicken, grapes, celery, pecans, and red onion to a mixing bowl and then top it off with a dollop of mayonnaise. You could use Greek yogurt if you prefer.
Sprinkle on some fresh parsley, salt, and pepper.
Stir this mixture together to combine.
I like to let my chicken salad hang out in the fridge for an hour or so before eating, but it’s totally fine to dig in right away if you’re in a rush.
This chicken salad with grapes is seriously so good on a nice buttery croissant. I’ve also been known to scoop it up with Ritz crackers and eat it that way.
No matter how you enjoy this chicken salad recipe, I’m sure you’ll think it’s a tasty lunch!

Way too much salt. I would half the amount of salt…..or even 1/4.

I agree. Way too salty.

I eat this with wheat thins

This sounds delicious! I have been doing a much better job lately on watching what I’m eating and counting my calories. The 412 calories per serving for this, does that include the croissant or is there 412 calories just in the 1 serving of salad alone? Thanks!
Karly says
That would include the croissant. ๐

I enjoy it with craisins. Be creative and use the different flavors craisins offer and place that in the chicken salad. I love chicken salad on croissants.

I love chicken salad with grapes, that was the way my mom always made it when I was growing up. And crunchy water chestnuts too.
Karly says
Ooh, water chestnuts sound like a good addition!
Joyce says
I add cantaloupe also. Adds more flavor.

This is almost exactly the recipe I use. Depending on who will be eating it, the nuts may be left out, or the onions.
I’ve made it for years and everyone who has eaten it has loved it.

About a year ago, you published a chicken salad with avacodo. Bacon and corn. It was delish, BUT, I can’t find it now. Help!
Karly says
Hi Janine! I don’t think that was my recipe. It sounds good though!
