This cinnamon roll bread makes a great dessert or a sweet treat for breakfast! It’s ready in about 15 minutes!
Would you like to save this?
You guys, I have made a grave mistake.
There is this local restaurant that sells buckets full of spaghetti and ravioli and these delicious sandwiches on the best Italian bread with salami and ham and turkey. They don’t deliver and, if you want to use the drive up window, you have to order ahead by phone. We don’t order from there often because, like most of the world, I hate ordering via phone. It’s 2017. Can’t we just do online orders?
Anyway.
My kids were begging for their gondola sandwiches the other night so I placed an order and they asked if I wanted to add an order of cinnamon sugar bread.
I mean.
Really?
Do you think anyone says no to that?
I did not say no that. I am no dummy.
So, now we’re obsessed and this cinnamon sugar bread was seriously getting me outside of my comfort zone. I was calling in orders all the time.
I finally figured out that hey, actually maybe I AM a dummy, because obviously cinnamon sugar bread is not hard to make at home. So that’s what I did here.
But I added cream cheese frosting so now this is cinnamon roll bread and yep. It’s even better than the local Italian joint with the buckets of spaghetti.
You’re welcome. Or I’m sorry. I’m not sure which is the appropriate saying in this instance. On the one hand, I’m giving you delicious carbs coated in cinnamon and sugar and slathered with a simple cream cheese frosting. On the other hand, I’m giving you delicious carbs coated in cinnamon and sugar and slathered with a simple cream cheese frosting.
You see how this is both a good and a bad thing, right?
Either way, go ahead and make this and let me know what you think. It’s really good and your kids will love you for this one.
It almost reminds me of my cinnamon sugar shortbread bars, cinnamon blondies recipe, and Bisquick cinnamon rolls. Easy cinnamon sugar goodness!

Karly I had to come and visit ? ! What a lovely website you have and what a delicious recipe this is. We do not have a store here where we could buy it so making it is the only option. Which is not a bad thing!!!!

MMMMMMmmmm please tell me that means Avanti’s!!! I went to college right down the street from one. Now I drive the hour and half occasionally just to go get a bucket of sauce and bread to dip in it!!!
Karly says
It was actually La Gondola. My kids love Avanti’s though!

There’s no way I could say no to this! I think you are so smart finding a way to make it at home…however, that probably means you’ll eat it more often! I could live with that, but maybe not my waist line! ๐

Oh my goodness, you have given me such a sweet trip down memory lane.
When I was a young married lady in NJ we would get Hard Rolls (Kaiser rolls) from the deli for sandwiches and any leftover rolls were split and toasted in the oven and then slathered with your cinnamon-sugar mix and back in the oven again. It was such a sweet way to start the day with a cup of coffee. Now I can’t wait to do it again. Thank you so much.

Do you think it would be as good with sourdough bread? Has so much more flavor but maybe not for this particular bread.
Karly says
I do think it’d be good with sourdough! ๐
