We start these simple Valentine's Day treats with a box of brownie mix, but you can my homemade brownies if you'd like to skip the box. Everything gets topped off with a crunchy oatmeal topping that adds a nice change in texture from the fudgy brownies.

Notes

You can use my homemade brownie recipe here if you prefer. It's the best, but we wanted to keep this one simple with a box.
Testing your brownies for doneness about an inch from the edge of the pan will make for more fudgy brownies. You'll have to let them cool completely so that they can set up in the pan. If you prefer a more well done brownie, test closer to the center for doneness. Do not overbake.
