Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies finely crushed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 pound chocolate candy coating
  • decorator's icing 2 colors

Instructions

  • Mix cookie crumbs and cream cheese until blended. Use an electric mixer or food processor for the best results.
  • Shape into 48 small footballs and place on a wax paper lined sheet pan.
  • Freeze for 10 minutes.
  • Add the chocolate to a microwave safe bowl and heat on low power in 30 second intervals, stirring each time, until chocolate has melted.
  • Using a fork, dip each football into the melted chocolate, let the excess run off, and then return to the wax paper.
  • Once chocolate has hardened, use the decorator's icing to draw the laces on the footballs.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving. Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

If you're having a hard time getting the footballs to dip nicely, you can pop them back into the freezer for another 10 minutes. The chocolate coats them best when they are cold and the balls can start to fall apart or get difficult to work with while dipping if they're too warm.
Use any color icing you like to pipe the stitches onto the footballs.
