Onion Ring Sauce

This Onion Ring Sauce tastes suspiciously like Outback's Bloomin' Onion Sauce! Creamy and rich with a kick of horseradish to give it that bite. Delicious on onion rings, but it's great on fries and chicken strips too.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish see notes
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cracked pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne optional

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a small bowl and whisk well to combine.
  • Taste and add additional salt, horseradish, or cayenne to suit your tastes. We usually add a touch more horseradish, but it’ll really depend on personal preference.
  • Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 5 days.

Notes

Prepared horseradish is basically grated horseradish root in vinegar. Horseradish sauce is the mayo based creamy sauce (like horsey sauce from Arby's). We use prepared horseradish here, however horseradish sauce will work just fine! I like to swap in 2-3 tablespoons of horseradish sauce for the mayo, if that's what I'm working with.
