This is just a really good, basic, every day marinade for chicken. Use any cut you prefer - I usually go for boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I also like to double this one so that we have leftovers. The chicken is really versatile - serve it with roasted veggies, over a salad, in a grain bowl...options are endless!
1 ½poundsboneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighspounded to an even thickness
Instructions
Add the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oil, vinegar, and honey to a shallow dish or ziptop bag and whisk to combine. Toss in the smashed garlic cloves and stir a bit to make sure they’re coated in the liquid.
Add the chicken to the marinade, turning to coat. Cover the dish or seal the bag, and place in the refrigerator for at least an hour, preferably 8 hours.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and drain the excess liquid.
Grill the chicken over medium-high heat for 6 minutes per side or until cooked through.
Notes
This is more savory than sweet, but if you want more of a teriyaki vibe you can add up to ¼ cup of honey.I use cheap white vinegar here, but apple cider vinegar will work just as well, if you prefer that.I prefer to let thicker chicken breasts marinate for anywhere from 4-8 hours. If you're using thin sliced breasts, I'd go up to 4 hours. Chicken can get mushy if you let it marinate for too long.
