Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Tabasco
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Add the butter and whole peeled cloves of garlic to a small saucepan over medium heat and let the butter melt.
  • Once melted, add the honey, Tabasco, and a pinch of salt.
  • Bring to a low simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, letting the sauce thicken a bit and the garlic infuse the honey with flavor.
  • Use a slotted spoon to fish out the garlic and discard.
  • Transfer the sauce to a mason jar to cool a bit before using.
  • Store tightly covered in the fridge for up to 1 week. Heat briefly in the microwave for 10-20 seconds before using to turn the sauce back to a liquid and stir well before using.

Notes

For extra hot honey, add in a pinch or two of red pepper flakes. You can leave these in the sauce or pour the sauce through a fine-mesh strainer after simmering to remove the red pepper flakes along with the garlic.
