This Amish broccoli salad is made with fresh broccoli and cauliflower mixed with shredded cheddar and crispy bits of bacon. It's all dressed with a sweet, tangy, creamy dressing. We like to make this in the summer and serve it with just about anything off the grill.
Chop the broccoli and cauliflower into bite-sized pieces. Add to a large mixing bowl with the cheddar and bacon. Stir to combine.
Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, vinegar, and salt to a small bowl and whisk to combine.
Pour the dressing over the broccoli and stir to coat.
Refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
Notes
With ¼ cup of sugar, this does have a bit of sweetness to it, but it’s not as sweet as many Amish salads are, due to our personal preference. You can increase the sugar up to ¾ of a cup if you like things sweeter.Add in some diced red onion if you like a bit of bite in your salads.
