Toffee Crunch Donuts

I hope you enjoy this fun treat! I'd recommend serving these guys for dessert or an afternoon snack. They might be a little on the sweet side for breakfast, but then again I don't usually like sweet stuff in the morning, so what do I know?

Ingredients

Frosting:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream or milk
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
  • Pinch of Kosher salt

Chocolate Sundae Topping

  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Cream the butter, powdered sugar, cream, caramel sauce, and salt together until light and fluffy.
  • Frost the tops of the cooled donuts.
  • In a small sauce pan, melt together the chocolate chips, butter, and oil over low heat. Stir constantly and remove from heat as soon as everything is melted and combined.
  • Use a spoon to drizzle the chocolate topping over the donuts.
  • Sprinkle the toffee pieces over the top.
