Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease up a 13x9-inch pan. In a saucepan, heat the chocolate and butter until completely melted. Whisk in the sugars, then add the eggs and vanilla, stirring until thoroughly combined. Fold in the flour and almonds and pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until only a bit of batter clings to a toothpick inserted into the center, turning the pan halfway through.
To make the frosting, first melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the brown sugar and cook over low heat two minutes, stirring constantly. Add the cream and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil and cook for about a minute. Add the powdered sugar until the frosting is spreadable. Pour onto the cooled brownies and smooth evenly.
