Chipotle Ranch Dressing

We took our homemade ranch dressing up a notch by blending in spicy, smoky chipotle peppers! This is perfect for a taco salad, as a dip for veggies, or drizzled in your tacos!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup buttermilk more as needed
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo more to taste
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor and process until smooth and creamy.
  • Add additional buttermilk, 1-2 tablespoons at a time, for a thinner consistency, if desired.
  • Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

We like to keep our dressing fairly thick to use as a dip, but you can add additional buttermilk to thin it out to more of a dressing consistency, if you prefer.
For extra spice, add an additional chipotle pepper or spoon in more of the adobo sauce from the jar.
We like the combination of mayo and sour cream, but you can use all mayonnaise if preferred, or swap the sour cream for Greek yogurt.
This does get a bit spicier the longer it sits.
