Easy biscuit donuts are our favorite morning treat! You won't believe how good fried biscuits are - especially when tossed in cinnamon and sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 tube canned refrigerated biscuits I get the flaky layers kind
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon or more, to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large, deep skillet or deep fryer to 350 degrees.
  2. Using a donut cutter (or the cap from a 2 liter soda bottle), cut the center from each biscuit.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
  4. Place a few donuts in the pan of hot oil, being careful not to crowd the pan. Fry until golden brown on one side, about 1-2 minutes, and then flip and fry until gold brown on the other side.
  5. Remove and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
  6. Shake each donut in the sugar and cinnamon mixture to coat.
  7. Serve hot.
