Chuck E. Cheese’s – Giveaway!

As most of you know, I have a couple of ridiculously adorable children.

No, it’s true. I’m not just saying that because I’m their mother. It actually is ridiculous how adorable they are. It should probably be illegal.

Every now and then I like to do nice things for them, just because. Everyone likes surprises, right? I think that’s a pretty good thing to remember as a mother. Surprises make people happy. And I think we all know that it’s ideal to keep the children fairly happy, because their face holes emit some god awful noises when they’re angry.

One of the surprises that I do every couple of months is Chuck E. Cheese’s, as evidenced by the barrage of Chuck E. Cheese’s drawings of us all over my fridge.

Did I mention that I have a Chuck E. Cheese’s secret to share with all of you? Go on a weekday. Chuck E. Cheese’s is a whole different place on a weekday. It’s not the crazy, shouty, child-zoo that it is on the weekends. It’s actually a nice place for dinner! It’s always clean and the food is always quick and yummy.

Now, we homeschool so I usually take the kids out there for lunch, but dinner time is great, too. We eat pizza, they play, and I read a book. It’s an enjoyable couple of hours and it wears the kids out and I win major mommy points. My 12 year old loves Chuck E. Cheese’s just as much as my 7 year old does. They stamp your hand when you come in too, so that the kids can’t exit with the wrong person. This means that I have no problem in becoming totally engrossed in my book while the kids roam free. And, fine, if I’m not reading a book, I might be stealing the kids’ tokens and playing skeeball. I admit to nothing.

Also, can we talk about their pizza for a minute? It’s good, man. I mean, it’s not anything overly fancy and there aren’t a ton of crazy topping options, but it’s still good pizza. They serve it on a dish with these little bumpy things and I don’t know what those are for, but I feel like it makes the pizza taste better.

See? The bumps? What are they for? I took the kids for lunch last week and had a gift card for a large pizza, 4 drinks, and 30 tokens. The retail value on that was $29.99. I ended up spending another $10 on tokens. So, for $40 my 2 children and I had a delicious lunch and just about 2 hours of playtime.

I don’t know if you’ve been to the movies lately, but you’re looking at about the same price. Only when your kids come home from the movies they are all hopped up and needing to burn off the energy they stored up sitting in the theatre for 2 hours without speaking or moving. When you get home from Chuck E. Cheese’s, they are tired. Tired is a fabulous thing for a child to be, in case you weren’t aware.
