Hi again!
Last we talked, I shared with you all about my excitement over getting to work with Groupon Getaways to plan my very own #MyGrouponGetaway! I asked y’all for a little input on where I should go and now I’m back and ready for the big reveal!
First up, I’m going on a long weekend trip with my husband to Chicago. We’re staying at the gorgeous and totally swanky MileNorth in downtown Chicago. It’s just steps from the Magnificent Mile, which means I’m going to be doing plenty of shopping, eating and people watching.
Chicago has tons of Groupon deals, so we booked a couple of tickets to two different comedy shows and tickets to a walking food tour! I’m mostly excited about the food tour, obviously. The prices were insanely cheap going through Groupon!
I also plan to construct my own little tour of as many bakeries as possible. Be sure to follow along on Instagram!
For my second trip, I surprised my mom, aunt, and cousin with a week long girls trip! We decided we wanted to really live it up, so we’re going to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. We got an AMAZING deal at just $99 a night per room and that’s all-inclusive! That means our food and drinks (lots and lots of drinks!) are included with the price of the room and it’s less than $100 a night. We’re so excited!
You can see the Groupon deal for that right here. It’s still active for now, but they do expire depending on when you’re reading this!
Our resort is right on the ocean with a gorgeous beach.
There are something like 11 restaurants and 13 bars.
We plan to go ziplining and take an ATV tour while there, too! We’re all so excited and just can’t wait for this trip!
Booking through Groupon is pretty easy. Neither of the trips I chose included airfare, so I just clicked on a calendar on the dates I wanted and entered in my info. Boom. Done.
For the getaways that include airfare in the price (these are all AMAZING DEALS and you should really check there first before scheduling your next vacation!), you generally have quite a few options to choose from, including different dates and different airports to fly from. All in all, it’s a pretty simple process.
I did call to confirm with both of my hotels to be certain that they had my info and both had me down, so the Groupon system works!
I can’t wait to come back next time and tell you all about my trip to Chicago! Just a few more weeks!

Oh my gosh, I’m so excited for your trips, Karly! Dominican Republic sounds so much fun, especially with your favorite people!
Oh by the way, I stayed at MileNorth last December, and it’s a great hotel right in downtown. With plenty of shopping and great restaurants. If you like Indian food, check out India House 59 West Grand, it’s very close to the hotel. Their food was fantastic! Have fun!

How did you book transportation from the airport in Dominican?

Wow, what a deal! Looks like you had a good time. Always checking groupon, but more for things like Bounce Houses and pizza and Magic shows. You know, stuff for the, um, kids.
