Last month, my tween daughter had her tween buddy spend the night.

It was just as loud and screechy as you’re imagining. So many giggles and whispers and just all around tweenage girl fun.

I holed up in my bedroom and didn’t come out unless absolutely needed, obviously. I mean, girls are cool and all, but my word. Their little voices can sometimes be like an ice pick to the brain, you know?

So, anyway, it was fun for them and relaxing for me, because the only place to sit in my bedroom is the bed and I don’t sit on beds, I lounge on them, so basically I napped the whole time. Win!

In the morning, I grabbed the girls and asked if they wanted me to make them a smoothie or run them to the local donut shop. Secretly, I was hoping for donuts, because I’d been low carbing it all week and was taking a day off.

They wanted smoothies.

Whut? I don’t even know.

I comprised by telling them they could have smoothies for breakfast and we’d go get donuts later for a snack. I’m a good mom. Or a bad mom, depending on how you look at it.

So, anyway, my daughter’s current smoothie fav is peanut butter banana. I thought I’d mix things up and swap the peanut butter for cashew butter and the dairy milk for Silk’s new cashew milk.

Hello, delicious smoothie. The cashew milk is smooth and creamy and was a perfect addition to this smoothie! The cashew milk has fewer calories than skim milk too!

Banana Cashew Smoothie

Serves 2 smoothies     adjust servings


  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup Silk cashew milk
  • 1/2 cup cashew butter
  • 1 1/2 cups ice


  1. Add all of the ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Serve immediately.
