How To Start Your Own Food Business and/or Blog
This is sponsored content. As always, all opinions are my own.
Every now and then I get a little overcome with emotion when I think about my job. About my life. About this thing right here that I’ve created from nothing.
This little blog of mine was started back in 2008 when I had a hankering for homemade hamburger buns and a desire to photograph something that didn’t wiggle or whine or demand payment in the form of candy for their modeling services. I photographed the hamburger buns and then I bought a domain name and started a blog and shared those buns with you and, 5 years later, here we are.
This blog started out as a hobby and it’s since turned into a full time career that I absolutely love. The things I’ve learned, the experiences I’ve had, the trips I’ve taken, the people I’ve met, the brands I’ve gotten to know, the new foods I’ve ventured out to try, but mostly? You. All of you. You’re my favorites. Unless you’re one of the people that leaves mean comments just for the fun of it. I don’t like you that much. But thanks for stopping by anyway!
I turned a passion for photography and food into something that helps support my family. I do something that I absolutely love, something that I am excited about each morning, and I earn actual money doing it. It’s so amazing, you guys.
And that, my friends, is why I get all weepy and emotional. This is real life and it’s fabulous. Other than dealing with the technical stuff. That part sucks a lot. but I’ll take it.
I want all of you to feel the same way about your jobs. I want you to find what you’re passionate about and JUST DO IT.
I have a feeling that a lot of you reading this are fellow food lovers and maybe even interested in starting your own business doing what you love. I want to introduce y’all to Quistic.
Quistic is an online community for people who want to grow. Quistic shares online courses that will teach you what you need to know to take you where you want to be.
I want to talk to you about two courses that I think you guys might love on Quistic right now. The first course that I think a lot of you may be interested in, and one that I’m really excited about, is From Recipe To Retail. In this 5 hour course you will learn how to create a step-by-step plan to launch your food business, get it financed, and grow your very own dream business.
Learn what it is that makes a good food entrepreneur and learn how to get funding for your business! This a 5 day live course with a Q&A session on the 5th day! This course starts on January 13, 2014, which makes it a PERFECT Christmas gift. Give the gift, let them research and get excited, and then watch them grow their own business! A gift that keeps on givin’!

The second course you might like is titled Reach Your Goals by Blogging. This course probably isn’t the best for those of you wanting to start a food/craft/mom blog. It’s more about enhancing your career (if you blog for a company, this would be perfect!) through the use of a blog. If you’re trying to launch a career or enhance your career, blogging is an amazing way to make that happen. This course will show you how!
Anyway, this course is taught by Penelope Trunk, a leading career blogger who earns over $200,000 each year from her blog. If you already have a blog, this course will help take it to the next level. If you’re still just thinking about a blog, this course is going to get you started off right. CLICK HERE to learn more about the course!
I think these courses would make an AMAZING Christmas gift for a fellow foodie who wants to start their dream business!
