If y’all could hear me and see me right now you’d probably run in the other direction.
I have a serious sugar high going on. I’m talking in the squeakiest, most high pitched voice ever and basically my entire body is vibrating.
I ate way too many donuts. Donuts topped with Toffee Sundae frosting and a rich chocolate glaze. And then sprinkled with toffee bits. Because, why not?
Anyway. Let’s talk about frosting. Are you a cake person or a frosting person? Don’t say both. You have to pick a side. It’s the rules.
I’m a frosting person. Always have been, always will be. My husband hates frosting, which works out well for me, because then I get his share as well as mine! I win at marriage.
So, lucky me, my gorgeous friend Courtney just came out with yet another cookbook. She’s a cookbook writing genius. She’s also pretty adorable. In fact, she probably thinks I’m creepy, because whenever I’m around her I just sit and smile contentedly and stare in her direction. She’s just so pleasant to be around with her cute little Southern accent, and her sweet little voice, and the way she talks super fast like she just can. not. wait. to tell you whatever it is she’s telling you.
She’s my favorite, is what I’m saying.
Anyway, she wrote a book. It’s titled Frostings and the inside? Is full of, surprise!, frosting recipes! Lots and lots of frosting recipes! We’re talking classic frosting recipes to creative genius frosting recipes. American Buttercream to Champagne Buttercream to Pumpkin Spice to Key Lime Pie. She even includes a frosting for pupcakes that the doggy in your life will just love!
The photography in this book is just stunning too. If I ever write a book, I want Kyle to photograph it for me. So pretty!
One of you lucky readers gets to win a copy of Frostings! Details below the recipe!
I’m sharing Courtney’s Toffee Sundae frosting with y’all today. I didn’t want to make cupcakes, because honestly, I suck at cake. Donuts are more my thing. So, I made my favorite baked chocolate donuts and topped them with delicious Toffee Sundae frosting. The frosting is ridiculously good. I could eat it with a spoon and be totally happy. After I frosted the donuts I topped them with the gorgeous chocolate glaze. I thinned mine out with extra butter to make it work with my donuts.
I hope you enjoy this fun treat! I’d recommend serving these guys for dessert or an afternoon snack. They might be a little on the sweet side for breakfast, but then again I don’t usually like sweet stuff in the morning, so what do I know?

I can’t imagine you sucking at making cake. I just can’t. Your donuts are the best I’ve found, and with that frosting, I’d be on a major sugar high too! I know you said not to say both cake and frosting, but I love both if the frosting is awesome. It has to be awesome like this!
