Sunkist Cara Cara Oranges

This post is sponsored by Sunkist. All opinions are my own.

Can I tell you a weird story about myself? I mean, that’s what I do here every day, right? Embarrass myself for your entertainment?

Well, the thing is I ate, like, one or two oranges as a child.

Then I never ate them again.

Then someone mentioned how delicious the little easy to peel clementines were and I bought a bag. Then I ate the entire thing in five minutes.

You guys, I’m suddenly addicted to citrus fruits! I always, always have a pile of oranges hanging out in my fruit bowl.

Have you tried Sunkist’s Cara Cara Oranges yet?

Ehrmagerd. So delicious!

They look just like a normal orange on the outside (you know…they’re orange!), but the inside is this gorgeous pink color. I like pretty food!

These little oranges aren’t just pretty, though. They’ve been labeled “The Power Orange.” They’re full of good for you stuff, like vitamin C, vitamin A, and fiber.

If you haven’t tried them already, do! Sunkist invites you to try your first Cara Cara Orange and share a video with them here to win a grand prize of $5,000 or two first prizes of $1,000!

You can watch a sample video right here, if you’re looking to get inspired!

Link me up to your video if you make one! I’d love to watch!

CaraCara’s are one of favorite fruits. I am riddled with excitement when they first appear in stores in December (yeah, I have no life)…I have gone on-and-on to friends and family about how they must try them.

I’m intrigued! Do you mean pink on the inside, like a grapefruit-y pink color? Do they taste just like a regular orange?

Yep, they look a lot like a grapefruit on the inside! They definitely have an orange flavor, but with a bit of a cranberry taste, too. We love them!

I accidentally bought Cara Cara oranges the first time. I opened one and thought…what the heck? A mini grapefruit? I tasted it and wow….delicious. The flavor was power packed. Sweet, juicy, yum. Guess where I stopped when I went to the grocery store the next time? You guessed it…the bin of Cara Cara oranges. Try one…you will love it…guarenteed.

They’re currently my favorite oranges, and I’ve got pretty high standards (I was born and raised in Central Florida with citrus trees in my backyard). They’re so sweet and delicious, and not riddled with seeds.

The first time I tried a caracara was when I was pregnant. Trader joes advertised them as being low acidity and I thought it was the answer to the heartburn I was having after eating oranges. Turns out they were DELICIOUS and didnt give me any heartburn. I was so sad when the season was over but now look forward to it every year.
