Triple Chocolate Banana Bread
So, uh, hi there.
It’s been awhile since I blogged. Like, 7 days or something.
Sorry about that.
I sorta bought season one of Pretty Little Liars and it sucked me in. I’ve spent the last 7 days laying on my couch watching these ridiculously pretty and overdressed teenaged girls make poor decisions. I would like to take this moment to ask my mother why she never purchased $300 sunglasses for her 16 year old daughter? Also, why was I never handed a hundred dollar bill to go have dinner with a friend?
I seriously missed out in high school.
To comfort myself I made some banana bread. With lots of chocolate. It’s pretty fab.

Triple Chocolate Banana Bread
Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
3 bananas, very ripe, mashed
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray.
Stir together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
In the bowl of your stand mixer, beat together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Drizzle in oil and chocolate syrup. Beat in the mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla. Fold in dry ingredients, nuts, and chocolate chips.
Pour into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
(I used 3 mini loaf pans and baked them for about 30 minutes.)

Triple chocolate banana bread? Slice me off a big piece of that glorious bread loaf! I’m in heaven. Can never get enough banana + chocolate. I’d smear a huge slather of PB on top of a fat slice and call it a day.

@sally @ sallys baking addiction,
Um, yes. The peanut butter would add protein and the bananas are fruit, so this is basically a very healthy breakfast. Or dinner. Whatever.
This sounds awesome, Karly! I love that there’s chocolate in it, 3 ways
Yes. Yes, this *is* fab. I’m drooling here.
Mini loaf pans?! So cute!! This sounds awesome
Triple chocolate = triple win. This would last about 3 seconds in my house!!
i love pretty little liars. it sucked me in too. and they definitely dress better than i do. secondly, i love banana bread. i usually put chocolate chips in it, but haven’t tried making the actual bread chocolately. definitely making this. yum!

@aimeeberrett,
Yes! Their clothes are ridiculous. I am all caught up to season 3. Can’t wait to watch tonight!
Great. Now I have to watch that show. Thanks a lot.
I guess I might have to make this bread to and blame you for being a fat couch potato.

@shelly (cookies and cups),
Do it. It goes well with The Vampire Diaries. Although, I’m really only in love with one boy and it’s mostly because of his sexy accent. He’s no Damon, but I love him anyway.
I love banana bread, but I think I love triple chocolate banana bread better now!!! That is seriously the most awesome bread!!! I agree with Sally, slather that in peanut butter and I am in heaven!!!
For the same reason you won’t do any of those things for Em when she’s that age.
The bread looks delicious!
Ugh. I SOOOO Agree.
Also, “A” needs her a** kicked. Just saying.
I totally LOVE your website & all your wonderful recipes! I love your humor while writing about your recipes! Your pictures are GREAT! There is only one thing I would change… can you make it so that your pictures are smaller when I want to print a recipe? I would LOVE for a recipe to all fit on one page with a SMALL picture (so to preserve paper and ink). That is it… hope you can! Keep up the good work!
PS Can’t wait to try this recipe!!
Blessings,
Melinda =0)
Banana bread is my favourite and chocolate is a given. By the way, season two is even better. You will not be able to stop it.
I love a good banana bread and this recipe looks amazing! Will definitely have to try it.
Wow my mom has some serious making up for lost time in her future. And she doesn’t even know it yet. Yeah I’m pretty sure that the only thing that could make this right is this banana bread.
Wow, you had me at triple chocolate. And I love that you made mini loves. Miniature-sized stuff always tastes better

@Chung-Ah | Damn Delicious,
And mini things have less calories so you can eat twice as much.
Anything called ‘triple chocolate’ is for sure a win. Plus you added banana? That’s awesome.
I dunno why it’s taken me FOREVER to get my act together and watch the show, but I tore through all the books a couple summers ago and loved them–damn it, now I’m intrigued to make banana bread and watch the hell out of those whiny teenagers. Also, I agree with Kristan–A is obnoxious and I hope they spill her secrets soon enough!
This looks awesome! but I think when I make it, I will just call it banana bread. then I won’t feel guilty eating it for breakfast.
Easy and delish! I made this for a crowd, and they loved it. Yum!
