Oreo Cookie Spread
Something changed my life last month. And when I say it changed my life, I mean that it changed my life.
Yeah. Whoa. I just brought out the italics, y’all.
That right there was the life changer. If you don’t read food blogs regularly, then you may not know what that is up there.
“Crunchy peanut butter?,” you’re thinking. “What’s so life changing about that?”
My friends, that is not peanut butter. That is cookie butter.
Let me try that again, with the italics, so you know I mean business.
It’s cookie butter, y’all.
Yeah. It’s pretty much even more fabulous than you’re imaging it to be. I’ve never had Biscoff cookies before, so I think it tastes like a cinnamon graham cracker all mushed up into something wonderful. It’s outrageous.
It’s pretty much on my mind 24 hours a day, so while I was wandering the grocery store the other day I happened upon a package of Double Stuf Oreo Cookies and I had an out of body experience.
Oreo. Cookie. Spread.
Yeah, that happened. And it’s amazing. I spread mine on some toast and it was, dare I say it, even better than Nutella.
I can’t wait to try smearing some on cheesecake or dropping a big blob in my bowl of ice cream. I think it’d make a good base for fruit dip, too. I’m going to try beating it into some buttercream frosting as well. Then again, half of the jar is gone already, because my husband and a spoon were quite eager to taste test.

15 Oreo cookies (half a package) In the bowl of a food processor fitted with the blade attachment, whiz the cookies until they are fine crumbs.
Oreo Cookie Spread
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
1/4 cup heavy cream (more, as desired)Directions:
Slowly drizzle in all of the oil and heavy cream with the processor turned on.
Stop the processor and test the thickness of the spread. If you'd like it thinner, add more heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time until it gets to the consistency you prefer.
Makes one half pint. Store in the refrigerator.

Best. Idea. Ever.
Looks like I’m adding oreos to the list today!
Going to try this out on my sons for breakfast in the morning.
I don’t know if I’m grossed out by the color or wondering where this recipe has been all my life. LOL … I’m leaning towards the latter.
Whoa. I bet it would be good in a s’more, too. And spread between two chocolate chip cookies.

@Debbie,
Um, yes. Definitely.
Or between two peanut butter cookies.
Karly — March 27th, 2012 @ 10:01 am
@Debbie,
For sure.
Or between two Thin Mints.
Karly — March 27th, 2012 @ 10:02 am
@Debbie,
The husband tested and approved this last night.
Oreo cookie spread in ice cream. . . You might be my hero!
Mmm looks so amazing
I ‘m going to take a pic of this recipe after I make it tonight. Going to put in fridge and my boys are going to love it oh hot homemade bread!
It almost looks like caviar spread on the bread!! Haha. Very creative.
What have you done? I really thought we were friends. This is mean, just mean.
OMG. I don’t have the words…
WOW. This looks incredible!
Because my obsession with Biscoff has yet to find it’s zenith – I am now completely bowled over by the idea of OREO Cookie Spread. Oh holy crap my life just stood still and my heart skipped a beat…
You’re such a genius! I love it!
*Whimper* This is a must have!
Looks like caviar! I’m in love!
This wouldn’t even make it out of the VitaMix in my house…omg it sounds crazy good!
mmm i haven’t seen crunchy speculoos outside of the netherlands!!! where did you find it?
Karly — March 27th, 2012 @ 6:49 pm
@dana,
I found it at Walmart. I haven’t seen it at any other local grocery stores, though. And the crunchy version is THE BEST.
Dana — March 27th, 2012 @ 7:00 pm
ill have to look for it next time I’m at walmart! I found that biscoff tasted different (worse) in America. more artificially sweet, so when my friend ones to the Netherlands this summer I’m having her bring back some delicious crunchy Speculoos!! that Oreo spread looks amazing though. any swap suggestions for the heavy cream? this lactose intolerant girl can’t handle something so heavy!
Karly — March 27th, 2012 @ 7:47 pm
@Dana,
Why does it not surprise me that the American version is artificially sweet tasting?
As for the cream, you could easily swap in regular milk or soy or almond milk. Just watch the consistency…you may need less since it’s thinner. Or you may need more because it’s thinner…I don’t know what I’m talking about here. Just play with it.
Let it be known that THIS shall be the reason I can never wear skinny jeans again. I’m not sure whether i’m happy or sad about that.
Karly — March 28th, 2012 @ 12:31 pm
@Joanne,
Happy. You’re happy. Skinny jeans are totally overrated. (Says the girl who hasn’t been able to wear them since they last time they were in style. *sigh*)
I’m granting you an honorary doctorate in cookie geniusness. Seriously, how brilliant is this?!
Karly — March 28th, 2012 @ 12:30 pm
@Hannah,
My first doctorate! Squee!
Given that I have to hide both the oreos and the biscoff spread from the fiance, I think I might have to make this over the weekend!
Karly — March 28th, 2012 @ 12:30 pm
@Rachel,
Be prepared to fight him to the death for it.
With the food processor on. wouldn’t the oreos go all over the place? hmmmmmm.
Karly — March 28th, 2012 @ 12:29 pm
@Jazzy,
No, not if you pour it through the little chute in the top. My food processor won’t work without the big lid on…I just remove the little round chute thing and pour through that.
Jazzy — March 28th, 2012 @ 6:38 pm
OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok ty Karly!:) I’m going to make it tonight and let kids have it on their toast in morn:D
OMG. My junk food weakness…. in SPREAD FORM?! Yes please.
One question: do you take the cream out before putting the cookies in the food processor?
Karly — March 28th, 2012 @ 12:29 pm
@Ashley M,
No ma’am. Whiz it all together, cream and all.
I learned about the Biscoff spread not too long ago and thought I was gonna have to order it online when I finally found some at my local Vons. Oh. My. God. LITERALLY the best stuff on the planet!! Gonna have to try this! My diet is ruined!!
It almost looks like caviar. This looks and sounds incredible. Can’t wait to try it.
We’ve had this in Belgium for the past four years or so. Belgians love “Speculoos” cookies (as it their pride & that’s what they are called) therefore they turned it into a spread…I guess there is a different name over there in the states.
Either way, delicious..and addicting.
Great blog though!
I believe I came across this when looking for a brownie recipe, but since then I’ve been checking it out and I’ve tried at least six or seven of your recipes. Have been very impressed by what I have tried!
I die.
this looks and sounds amazing. i made oreo truffles last year that changed my life so I can only imagine how this will change my life now!
This sounds AMAZING! However, when I saw the picture of your toast, I couldn’t help but wonder what your teeth looked like after you ate it! : )
Karly — March 28th, 2012 @ 12:28 pm
@Joni,
I totally hid my mouth with my hand the whole time I ate the toast. Haha!
O – M – G!!!! how delish does that sound???
i’ll have to trust your opinion and that of everyone else’ that it taste as good as it looks….’cause
it would make me sooooo sick but what a way to go huh?!?
had to laugh at the comments though on how it must have looked on your teeth! lol!
i can just imagine the recipes that stuff could only enhance though!
have a blessed day everyone!
I’ve never seen crunchy biscoff, only the smooth!!!! I must get my hands on some of this ASAP!
Karly — March 28th, 2012 @ 12:27 pm
@Emilie @ Emilie’s Enjoyables,
Yes, you must. It’s so much yummier!
I can imagine that this tastes as good as Biscoff spread does…straight from the jar, to the spoon, to my mouth.
OMG and I thought oreo truffles were good. This looks heavenly.
Surely this recipe must be illegal?
You should market this stuff. Holy yum!
OH MY WORD!! This is like heaven in a mason jar!! I can not wait to try this!!! I am going to buy my Oreo’s now!!!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Kim
At first I was really interested, but kind of grossed out at the same time. I like cookies n cream type things, but I don’t LOVE them. I made this anyways (its as close to biscoff as I’m probably going to get without ordering online) but I used golden oreos instead of the regular and O M GOSH. This stuff is money. I am planning on serving it @ my babies first bday this summer as a dip for fruit. I can’t wait to try this with other cookies too… thin mints, gingerbread cookies, shortbread… I can feel my pants getting tighter already!
Try this made with coconut oil
how long will it last?
oh my goodness. i eat oreos as cereal (my favorite way to have them) but this may top that. on a buttered bagel? croissant? a giant spoon? on an Oreo?!?
Just made it! Amazing
Holy crap this looks good!
I wonder what it would be like to blend the Oreo cookie dust in WITH the Biscoff’s spread? Hmmm….
Oh my. This has to be sooooo delicious!
oh my gosh!
i was just asking about this in my latest post.
and elle told me about this!
I’m in HEAVEN!!
This is mind-blowing! However, after I made it, I put it in the refrigerator like it says. It’s not very spreadable anymore. I don’t mind eating it straight from the jar but I would like to know how to get it spreadable again.
tried the recipe but it didn’t come out as dark as in the picture…
oh. my. good. gawd. YES!!!
Hi Karly. I saw this about a week ago and I made it as soon as I possibly could. My, was that delicious!!! My question is: is the heavy cream you add, the type of cream you use for whipping? Please… help!
Thanks
Sam
